Project Eclipse: Nov 18 Update

Seems like we are making progress and are starting to button up one area while we move to another for reconditioning.

We have our usual weekly list of objectives on the board and have taken attendance.

Now to get our hands dirty as automotive surgeons!

Some car club students are removing more front end suspension and drive line components like drive axles, control arms and knuckles...

Our grade 12 SHSM students helped to secure the final bits of the rear subframe and upper control arms so we could mount the tires and have a final look at the finished rear end. But while doing so, they spotted an excessively rusty rear bumper mount and decided we could discard it and weld a new one to remount the bumper skin later in the rebuild:

The grade nine car club members filled in for the grade tens and continued prepping the undercarriage for some undercoating, sometimes at strange heights and angles! Perseverance pays!

As the final bits of the rear suspension are bolted into place, we finish today's session with a test fit of the wheels for that complete look!
Not too bad!

BR rules!!!

We are eager to get the rest of the front end down and rebuilt as well as the remainder of the undercarriage undercoated. There is still lots to do- engine and transaxle removal, repairs to a few broken bolts, and we just received word that our custom lambo door kit is en route across the country with delivery any time now!
The BR Spirit Car is slowly coming together, and for what Car Club has in store for this transformation...will be well worth the wait!
