Project Eclipse: Sept 29-Oct 6 Update

Back at transforming the BR Spirit Car, we focussed on the racing seat installation for two weeks.

This was no easy task, as the factory seat rail bolt pattern was different than the aftermarket seat rail bolt pattern.

With some design and engineering, and a lot of patience, Mr. Da Silva was able to fabricate a couple of steel adapter brackets to help install the aftermarket seats in the car.

First, we had to design a jig to lay out the bolt pattern for the custom seat rail bracket.

Next, we had to construct and weld the custom rail adapters.

We did, however, have to drill out and remove a faulty nut and stud that holds the driver's door in.

Finally, with some adjustments, they new seats sit happily in place on the car!

We are currently waiting for the stereo system donation to come in. Until then, BR Car Club members will continue to learn new ideas and participate in other classroom learning opportunities, like tire changing and tire balancing! Great job! See you soon!
